American citizens call illegal immigration a “critical threat”?!

There was a poll not long ago that showed more than half of Americans think the immigration problem is a “critical threat.”

There were over 1,000 phone interviews for the study between February 1 and February 20. Twenty-eight per cent of Americans (28%) say that illegal immigration is the most important problem the US is having right now. When you look at other possible problems, like the business, inflation, and the government, this is very small.

There were over 50 per cent of adults in the US said that a large number of immigrants was a “critical threat.” Thirty-one percent of Americans also said the problem of immigrants was an “important threat,” while fourteen per cent said it was a “not important” threat.

As the election approaches, the Gallup study comes at a time when immigration is getting more and more attention. The United States has been dealing with an immigration problem that has been getting worse for a few years now.

Millions of people have been caught at the border since Joe Biden took office. Most of the problems have been along the southern border. There have been record-breaking months for encounters, like December 2023, with over 300,000 encounters; there have been 2 million encounters in the last year.

A lot of people have said that the border could be better protected with more resources, but nothing can be done until these funds are approved. In an effort to find answers that have a good chance of being approved, Congress has been looking for laws that they can send to the president.

Also, this poll comes not long after it was confirmed that the person charged with killing a 22-year-old nursing student from Georgia was an immigrant from Venezuela.
