Trump’s lead shrinks, but the race is still close

Polls show that Biden is slowly closing the gap between himself and Trump as his campaign for president gets stronger. Experts say that even so, there may be competition now from third-party candidates who are also running.

In the past, polls gave one candidate a four-point lead. However, the New York Times’ Siena College Poll found that there is now only a 1% gap between the two candidates among registered voters. Biden’s support may continue to grow while former President Donald Trump is in New York for his criminal trial. Trump will not be able to campaign for at least six weeks.

Twenty-four percent of people say Biden’s presidency hasn’t been good for the country, and more than forty percent say Trump’s time was better for the country than Biden’s.

It was shown in a different study that there were no other candidates and that only Joe Biden and Donald Trump were compared. 42 percent of people would pick Biden and 40 percent would pick Trump, according to these findings. When third-party voters, mostly Robert F. Kennedy Jr., were added to the election results, Biden fell below Trump in terms of popularity.

Editor of Issues & Insights Terry Jones wrote, “This is not surprising because RFK Jr. is on most issues a traditional progressive leftist. This makes him indistinguishable from the current leadership of the Democratic party.”

At the moment, polls show a lot of different numbers, and candidates keep changing their minds. Only time will tell how third-party candidates could change the outcome.
