Russia may be getting ready for a possible war with the West within the next ten years or so, according to Estonia’s Foreign Intelligence Service.

According to Western leaders, Russia poses a military danger and Europe should get ready for a fight. This assessment was made because Russia wants to increase its troops along the borders of NATO countries, according to the head of Estonia’s Foreign Intelligence Service.

“Russia has chosen a path that will lead to a long-term confrontation,” Kaupo Rosin said. “The Kremlin is probably planning for a possible conflict with NATO within the next ten years or so.” However, they aren’t worried that Russia will attack soon because they need to keep their troops in Ukraine and wouldn’t have enough troops for a full-on European war.

Rosain said, “If we are not ready, the chance of a Russian attack is much higher than if we were ready.” Prepare for a possible war, even if Russia doesn’t attack for years, he said.

Numerous countries have started getting ready for a possible attack; Estonia and the other Baltic States have raised their military spending by more than 2% of their economies’ value. Furthermore, NATO allies have increased their force in those nations as well.

In answer, Germany plans to have at least 4,800 “combat-ready troops” in the area by 2025. They haven’t been sent on a regular assignment since World War II. According to NATO and its allies, Germany is “moving in the right direction” in getting ready for a Russian attack.

Others are still worried about Russia’s war with Ukraine, and how it will affect the areas nearby.
