There was the deadliest attack in Russia’s history this past weekend when over 100 people were shot and killed at a show.

People waited in Crocus City Hall to see Picnic, a band that has been famous since the Soviet era. Over 6,000 people bought tickets to the show, and many of them weren’t even in the stadium yet until they heard shots. They were getting snacks and drinks.

People heard pops about ten minutes before the show, but many thought it was fireworks or some other kind of celebration to start the concert they were going to.

Someone who went to the show, Dave Primov, spoke out about what he heard. He said, “At first I thought it might be fireworks or something like that.” “When I looked at my coworker, he too said, ‘Probably fireworks.'”

As they quickly learned, these weren’t fireworks; four men had broken into the music hall and were shooting randomly into the crowd. To stop the attack, they set the building on fire.

Over 130 people were killed and almost 200 were hurt in what was called Russia’s biggest attack in years. According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the attack was “a bloody, barbaric terrorist act.”

Initially, Russia believed that the attack came from Ukraine, but ISIS admitted responsibility, and U.S. officials quickly confirmed this.

Four people, all of whom are from Tajikistan, have been arrested on charges of planning a terrorist attack. They will each get a life term.

The billionaire Aras Agalarov built Crocus Hall, a big theater and shopping center in Krasnogorsk.

People were running and hiding in videos that were going viral. At one point, a man can be heard saying, “They set the auditorium on fire.” “There is fire in the theater.”
