A plant in India was not clean, so many types of eye ointments across the country had to be recalled. This put people who used them at risk of getting an infection. In Thane, Maharashtra, India, Brassica Pharma Pvt. did the recall. After a deadly spread linked to fake tears made by another Indian company, that happened.

The most recent spread was caused by EzriCare fake tears, which were taken off the market by Delsam Pharma in Chennai, India. Health officials say that 81 people in 18 states got infections and lost their sight.
