The suspect’s mother had reportedly called the police to inform them of his unpredictable behavior. However, they hadn’t yet arrived at the scene when the subject approached two female medics. A nearby military veteran saw the disturbance and grabbed his gun to respond.

A woman who identified herself to be the stepmother of the veteran said that he “came back inside to grab his weapon because the gentleman began coming into our driveway.”

The suspect, identified by law enforcement to be Darrion Suave Fraley, then allegedly fled from the medics and tried to attack the armed resident. He responded by firing his gun.

Another local said that he heard gunfire and was woken by the sounds. “Someone outside popped him, that was it.”

Police stated that Fraley tried to grab the gun of the other man and use it against him despite his injuries. However, he was stopped by police who discovered that all bullets had been fired.

His heroic actions saved many others from injury or even death for his stepmother and other local residents that day.

She said, “It’s not exactly what he intended to do this morning. But when someone comes at me and it’s between them and you… his military training kicked into.” “You do what is necessary to protect yourself and your family.”

The suspect’s relatives confirmed that he was not on the right dosage of paranoid schizophrenia medication prior to his rampage. He was taken to a local hospital for critical injury treatment.

According to police reports, Fraley faces criminal charges such as attempted murder, possessing firearms, possessing a knife during the commission of a crime, and obstruction of an EMT.

According to reports, the wounded veteran was only slightly injured in the altercation. Initial reports indicate that he has not been charged with any crime in connection to his actions.
